Europe’s premier KM conference 2010
With the acceptance of social computing tools as a means to share and exchange knowledge within and across wider community, the disciplines of knowledge and information management are experiencing a resurgence in 2010.
The business drivers behind knowledge management remain the same – to deliver competitive advantage through innovation, reduced costs, improved decision-making and employee productivity. But the focus of the discipline has changed. The emphasis is placed firmly now on collaboration both online and offline and, with it, KMUK/KM Europe (formerly KCUK), as an event, has changed too. KMUK 2010 will build on the high audience numbers of the past ten years, and the event’s reputation as the industry’s annual networking event, but will also offer a new modern, fully wifi-enabled venue, an awards ceremony, a virtual social media workshop, ice-breaker and networking skills sessions and a completely revamped highly-interactive programme that, through extensive market research, will offer a revitalised look at what is happening.

The Social by Social team will run a Virtual Workshop during the conference that will address the issue of how social media can add value to knowledge management strategies, and the challenges involved. This will involve Twitter, blogging, social networking, live video streaming from a phone, and video interviews. Attendance will be free - as will all the social media tools they use.
